Weddings at Lulworth Castle are a Pleasure to Shoot

Lulworth Castle is one of my favourite places in Dorset. This 17th Century Dorset castle is known for hosting the superb Dorset site of Camp Bestival, it hosted the Purbeck Shooting School 50th Anniversary Shooting Competition (for which I filmed the promotional video) and of course, amazing weddings.

Lulworth Castle Wedding Photography

As a photographer and drone pilot, Lulworth Castle is perfect for creative wedding photography in multiple locations. The ideas just flow here. The Lulworth Estate can lay on any number of activities on the huge lawn behind the castle prior to your wedding breakfast. 

Lawn games, live music and what better backdrop than the castle for group shots and the bouquet toss!

St Andrews Church in Wareham, Dorset

St Andrews church at Lulworth has a 15th Century tower that predates the castle itself. The church building was redesigned in 1864 with the plans being drawn up by none other than a young Thomas Hardy.

Having your wedding ceremony in St Andrews and the wedding reception in the main castle means just a short walk between wedding venues. Perfect for a wedding photographer as it means less lugging about of gear.

Wedding Breakfast Inside the Castle

After a couple of quick portraits of the bride and groom in the gardens, you then have the meal inside the castle.  With its bare walls, steps everywhere and the odd suit of armour standing around, the experience is something couples will remember forever. The acoustics inside the castle are amazing and the evening finishes with a bang!
